The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo is hosting a family friendly drive in event for Canada Day.
Partnering with the Multicultural Association of Wood Buffalo, who will be providing pre-show entertainment on June 30 and July 1, residents can watch ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ at MacDonald Island Park.
“In 2020 we saw a tremendously positive response to our family movie nights for Canada Day,” says Alexis Tallon, Manager of Events at the RRC.
Families will have the opportunity to submit an entry to a randomly drawn lottery from June 23 – June 27 for a chance to attend one of the movie nights.
More information on how to apply will be made public in the coming days.
The annual Syncrude Grand Finale Fireworks will take place each night after the movie.
Those who don’t have a ticket can still see the fireworks across the community.
“This year as we begin to see restrictions ease and the potential transition to more traditional style events, we are bringing this format back for another year to ensure families can once again safely enjoy Canada Day,” added Tallon.
