The final nominee is being named for the Girls Inc of Northern Alberta Women of Inspiration Series.

Shreeya Patel will be honored virtually on March 8 with four other nominees.

The 18-year-old is the leader of the general assembly for the Mayor’s Advisory Council On Youth, helped launch Fort McMurray’s first Youth and Health Conference, and is an advocate for empowering girls in leadership and STEM.

She also holds an executive position for Queens in Code which provides a safe space for women who want to explore coding.

“Passion is what drove me to these types of things,” said Patel. “Keeping your passions with confidence, it will just skyrocket from there.”

Patel and the four other nominees, Rachel Ivey, Regina Oppon, Victoria Brown, and Chithra Udayashaukar, will be honored virtually on March 8th.
