United Way Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo’s Local Love Campaign is back for its third year.
The campaign launched this morning with a virtual video outlining what the charity does in our region and who it helps.
The funds the campaign raised will help support 25 partner agencies in Fort McMurray.
The goal this year is $4,000,000.
“We acknowledge that the need in our region has not declined, but are taking into account the enormous challenges our community and its residents are facing,” said Andrea Hine, Community Investment Chair.
“If you’re able, please give what you can; every dollar counts.”
The Local Love Campaign is in its third and final year, a tagline, ‘Now More Than Ever’ was added to this years campaign.
“If there was ever a time where we needed to come together – with COVID, with people suffering, with the flood – this is it. It’s Local Love in its essence, Now More Than Ever – we need to do this as a group,” Said Craig Picton, 2020 Campaign Chair.
“Fort McMurray proves every year to be better at giving than almost any place in Canada and we’re sure that it will happen again this year.”
This year’s events include the Really Really Really Big 50/50, a Really Really Really Big Christmas Cash Draw, and the Red Menu Campaign.
You can purchase tickets for the one day Really Really Really Big 50/50 on September 24.
