Keyano College has a new partner for the 2020-21 school year.
Women Building Futures are teaming up with the college to bring more skills training to women in Wood Buffalo.
The first new program, Driver and Operator Training, will prepare students to obtain a class three license and to operate equipment like hydrovacs and snow ploughs.
The second option, The Journeywoman Start Program, will provide introductory training to a number of construction trades.
“We look forward to working with Women Building Futures to provide this unique training opportunity,” said Bertha Fairley, Dean of Continuing Education.
“This excellent initiative not only allows women to live, train, and work in the region but also provides them with the skills they need to excel in a new career.”
The courses include both classroom and hands on learning equipping students with skills required by industry employers in the region.
