Select drive-thru’s in Alberta will soon be distributing free non medical masks.
The provincial government is giving residents 20 million masks through the windows of participating Tim Hortons, McDonald’s, and A&W drive-thrus.
“I want to thank A&W, McDonald’s Canada, Tim Hortons, and all of the other organizations and municipalities that have come together to help us distribute millions of masks” said Tyler Shandro, Minister of Health, in a release.
Almost 600 locations will be offering these masks across the province.
They will be distributed in packages of four.
While around 95 per cent of Albertans live within 10 km of a drive-thru location, there are still many that do not.
The GoA is working on a distribution plan for smaller municipalities, Indigenous communities, and Mtis settlements that do not have drive-thru’s readily available.
