The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is one step closer to getting up and running again.
Because of the flood, they were forced to close their doors.
Earlier this week they secured a donation centre and a place to pack hampers. The location was approved by Alberta Health Services on Wednesday.
Currently, they are only able to supply non-perishable items as they do not have full functionality of storing perishables at this moment.
Community donations of non perishable items are being welcomed at Summit GM.
When they are open for pick up – they will have a location in Gregoire and Thickwood and be directing clients to each place depending on their neighbourhood.
The organization will be in need of volunteers soon and asks the public to keep an eye on the Wood Buffalo Volunteers page for ways people can help. If you are in need of the food banks services, they hope to be ready to accept new clients soon and will be updating their social media as soon as they are.
