There are 31 new cases of COVID-19 across Alberta.

Dr. Marcia Johnson, Alberta’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Saturday that the provincial total is now at 226.

This is down from the 49 new cases on Friday, however, Johnson says it’s too early to determine whether the dip in numbers is due to people following all their measures.

In the north zone, which includes the RMWB, there are 16 cases. According to data from the province, there were 17 cases on Friday, however, there is now an unknown location for one of the situations.

In northern Alberta, four of the cases are in High Prairie, three in Slave Lake, three in Bonnyville, two in Barrhead, one in Cold Lake, and one officially confirmed for Fort McMurray. The other two situations currently don’t have a determined location at this time.

It is believed the one case in Wood Buffalo is an employee at Maxx Dental.

Meanwhile, the Calgary zone continues to be hit the hardest.

Just under 140 of the cases are in the area with 57 in the Edmonton zone.
