The Canadian Mental Health Association of Wood Buffalo is providing some tips for residents who may be concerned with the coronavirus.
Anxiety has been on the rise since the virus made its way to Alberta.
There’s currently no confirmed cases in Wood Buffalo.
CMHA wants residents who may be struggling to know:
- it’s okay to be anxious and avoid bottling up your emotions
- self-care is important and there are services in the region to help
- make sure you get enough sleep, eat healthy, and exercise
- remain on factors you can control including washing hands, covering your mouth during coughs and sneezes, and avoiding non-essential travel
- limit your exposure to updates
People in need support can reach out to the CMHA, Some Other Solutions, and other organizations dedicated to mental health.
More information, including tips to prevent the spread of the virus, can be found on the GoA’s website.
