Fort McMurray is one of three Alberta communities that will be able to get alcohol delivered through SkipTheDishes.
The delivery service announced on Tuesday that Wood Buffalo, Calgary, and Edmonton would now be offering this service.
Alberta is now the third province to offer alcohol delivery through SkipTheDishes. Manitoba and British Columbia started this initiative back in 2017.
“We’re always working to make sure everyone on the Skip network has a safe, enjoyable experience,” said a SkipTheDish spokesperson.
“All independently-contracted couriers that deliver alcohol in Alberta hold a ProServe certificate and have undergone an alcohol delivery onboarding process.”
This isn’t brand new to the community as multiple businesses have offered this service over the years.
People who use SkipTheDish will still be asked to verify that they 18 and older. Drivers will need to see a government ID before handing over any alcohol.
