The new Timberlea bus terminal will be up and running this week.
The municipality announced on Monday the new terminal, on Confederation Way at the corner of Paquette Drive, will be open to the public on December 20.
All routes with active detours in place due to the construction will resume their regular routes once the new terminal becomes operational.
This includes Route 9 (Cartier Heights/ Brett Drive), Route 12 (Thickwood/ Timberlea), Route 15 (Timberlea), Route 17 (Parsons Creek/ Morgan Heights), and Route 41 (Stone Creek / Eagle Ridge).
Route 12 will still service the Powder Dr. station as part of its regular routing.
Meanwhile, the new Thickwood terminal is expected to be open to the public in the near future.
It will be located on Thickwood Boulevard, in front of the Casman Centre.
The municipality says transit buses will be using this terminal for training ahead of its official opening.
Meanwhile, residents are being reminded that bus fares will be slightly increasing in 2020.
Rides in Fort McMurray will now cost $1.50, while rural transit fares will stay the same.
You can find more information about transit services on the RMWB’s website.
