Environment Canada is continuing its extreme cold warning for Fort McMurray and surrounding areas as the windchill is expected to make temperatures hover between -40 and -50 when the sun disappears.
The weather agency says frostbite and hypothermia are a strong possibility if you stay outside for a long period of time and you’re not properly covered up.
The temperature is expected to slightly warm up by next week.
Meanwhile, the Alberta Motor Association is providing safety tips for drivers as the cold weather arrives in Wood Buffalo.
