Fort Chipewyan is getting its own Festival of Trees.
On Monday, A.P.E Maintenance Ltd. announced their intention to create and present a Festival of Trees in the northern hamlet.
The Nunee Health Board Society also hosted the event back in 2017.
Owner Melanie Antoine says every year the Northern Lights Health Foundation creates a whole winter wonderland in Fort McMurray – and they wanted to bring that to their community.
“I love everything about Festival of Trees,” she said. “The joy of creating Christmas crafts, sharing time with friends and neighbors, seeing and bidding on the beautifully decorated trees, visiting with Santa, and so much more.”
To kickoff sponsorship – A.P.E. Maintenance has also announced a $10 thousand donation to the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
“Over the past few years, A.P.E. Maintenance has stepped up donations to the Health Foundation time and time again,” added Cindy Amerongen, NLHF Executive Director. “The donation of $10,000 is unrestricted to the Foundation allowing the Board of Directors to allocate to priority healthcare projects.
The festival takes place on November 23 at the Mamawi Community Hall in Fort Chipewyan.
